strand的动词和名词含义完全不一样。

VERB

If you are stranded, you are prevented from leaving a place, for example, because of bad weather.

The climbers had been stranded by a storm. [be VERB-ed]

The airport had to be closed, stranding tourists. [VERB noun]

COUNTABLE NOUN

A single hair, a noodle, even a line of thought — any of these things could be called a strand, a long thin length of something.

She tried to blow a grey strand of hair from her eyes. [+ of]

...high fences, topped by strands of barbed-wire. [+ of]

He began to feed in the spaghetti, carefully separating the strands.

due to

due to大家都认识，但是一定要注意它后面不能跟从句，只能跟名词。

1. 先找主干部分，就是用最简短的话讲清楚“谁 做 什么”，其他部分扔掉不要管。另外要注意的是，主干部分的主、谓（系）、宾（表）这三个成一定是完整的。

2. 剩下部分都是针对主干信息的修饰或者补充，要么是从句，要么是介词短语，或者是插入语、同位语，这些补充成分里面，只有从句是有完整的主谓结构的，并且有that which who where when等先行词标志

Nearly 300 Americans stranded in Central America / due to the spread of the coronavirus / have returned to the U.S. this week aboard flights / used by U.S. immigration authorities to deport people back to their home countries.

a) stranded in Central America：过去分词做定语，修饰前面的300 Americans

b) due to the spread of the coronavirus: due to介词短语对straned in Central America作原因信息的补充，所以是原因状语

c) aboard flight: by plane，return的方式信息的补充

d) used by U.S. immigration authorities to deport people back to their home countries: 看到used就知道是过去分词做定语了，也可以看作是省略了先行词的定语从句，修饰flights - aboard flights which are used by U.S. immigration authorities to deport people back to their home countries

3. 最后再以围绕主干，把修饰或补充成分一点一点的往上贴的原则，还原整个句子（可点开手动放大）：
