Meaning:---含义

Get to the point---直截了当的说

For example:----举例说明

Hi everyone, we all know why we are here today, so let’s cut to the chase.---大家好，我们都知道今天我们为什么会在这里，所以就让我们切入正题吧。

2/ To make a long story short---长话短说

Meaning:---含义

Taking a long story and summarizing its main points, skipping over unnecessary details---长篇大论，总结要点，跳过不必要的细节

For example:---举例说明

I wanted to tell you all about my amazing day, but long story short, I won the lottery!---我想告诉你我今天过得多么精彩，但是长话短说，我中了彩票!

3/ Beat around the bush---旁敲侧击，拐弯抹角，说话绕圈子

Meaning:---含义

To talk about something without mentioning it directly or avoid getting to the core of the subject.---不直接提及某事或避免触及话题的核心

For example:---举例说明
