英语学习四步法是指从学习英语时候先易后难，由简入深，从单词、短语逐渐过度到单句和短文，在学习的过程中还要多听录音，跟读重复练习口语和阅读，培养语感，在听说读的基础上开始进行英语写作，最终实现英语的实现技能听说、说、读、写全方位发展，这是和我多年倡导的“听说领先学好英语”如出一辙。

今天就让我们用英语学习四步法：单词—短语—单句—短文，来一起学习《新概念英语》第一册 Lesson 7, Are you a teacher? 你是老师吗？

1、英语单词（New Words）

Name英 [neɪm] 美 [neɪmn. 名称；姓名；名义；名誉；名人;v. 命名；取名；说出( ... 的名字);adj. 著名的

用作名词 (n.)

The committee's name has been acronymed NACA. 该委员会的名称被缩合成NACA。

Rubella is just another name for German measles.风疹只是德国麻疹的另一个名称。

She signed the poem with her real name.她在诗后署上了自己的真实姓名。

He refused to disclose his name and address.他拒绝透露自己的姓名和地址。

I greet you in the name of the President.我代表总统前来迎接您。

He has lent his name to the lofty cause.他以自己的名义支持这一崇高的事业。

That brought discredit on his name.那件事使他的名誉受损。

A good name is better than a good girdle.名誉胜过金钱。

2、英语短语（Phrases）

answer to one's name〔the name of〕: 听到叫自己的名字就答应,名叫… have the name of

call sb names: 骂某人 abuse or insult sb

drag sb/sb's name through the mire〔mud〕: 使某人蒙羞、丢脸 bring disgrace to sb by behaving every badly

drop names: 滥用显要人物以提高自身身价 mention famous or powerful people one is supposed to know, so as to impress others

enter one's name〔put one's name〕 down for

报名上(学、课等) apply to enter (a school, college, course, etc.)

give one's name to: 以自己的名字命名某项发明创造 invent or originate sth which then becomes known by one's own name

in name only : 表面上,名义上 not in reality

in (the) name of〔in sb's name〕: 为某物的缘故 for the sake of sth

lend one's name to: 以自己的名义支持或帮助 allow oneself to be associated with sth

make a name for oneself : 〈非正〉使自己出名 earn oneself a reputation

name names: 指名道姓,公开点名 point out sb's name in public

put a name to : 知道或记住某人〔某事物〕的名称 know or remember what sb/sth is called

sb's name is mud: 名誉扫地,不讨人喜欢 sb is disliked or (often temporarily) unpopular because of sth he has done

take sb's name in vain: 滥用名字,上帝之名 use a name, especially God's, disrespectfully

the name of the game: 一项活动的主要目的或最重要的方面 the main purpose or most important aspect of an activity

under the name of: 用…作名字 using sth as a name instead of one's real name

用作动词 (v.)

name after〔for〕 (v.+prep.) : 以…的名字起名 give the same name of sb asname sb/sth after〔for〕 sb: The child was named after her famous aunt.

这孩子是以其著名的姑妈名来命名的。

The machine is named after its inventor. 这台机器是以其发明者的名字命名的。

The Hudson River is named for the English explorer Henry Hudson.哈得孙河是以英国探险家亨利·哈得孙的名字命名的。

4、英语短文（Introduction）

My name’s Rober, and I am an engineer, and my sister’s name is Julia, she is a keyboard operator.

Both of us are Italian, and our nationality is Italy.

We work in the office day to day, and we like our office work very much.

我的名字叫罗伯特，我是一名工程师。我的妹妹名字叫朱丽叶，她是一名电脑操作人员。

我们两人都是意大利人，我们的国籍是意大利。

我们每天都在办公室工作，我们都非常喜欢我们的室内工作。

英语学习四步法：《单词—短语—单句—短文》，由简单的单词开始，逐步过度到短语和单句，最好单句进行有机组合就形成了短文。

在具体使用这个学习方法过程中，需要注意的是听说练习。我们可以网络视频或音频资料，反复多次听录音，跟读，并听写听到的内容（课文）。在听、说、读三个项目练习之后，最好进行英语写作训练。写作的短文内容是对本课文的改写，适当地添加了一些熟悉的资料，使得行文内容更为丰富。如果我们能够坚持用《单词—短语—单句—短文》“四步法”来学习《新概念英语》，相信我们的英语听、说、读、写四个基本技能一定会在一个相对短的时间内得以大幅度的提高。.
