一天当中的主要时间是：morning；afternoon；evening ；night。

1. in the 和 on 与一天当中的时间连用

(1)用in the morning, in the afternoon, in the evening和in the night来谈论事情发生的时间。

She woke up in the morning feeling ill.她早上起来感到不舒服。It rained in the night.夜晚天下起了雨。

(2)也可以用 in the morning (s), in the afternoon (s）和 in the evening (s)来表达在这些时间里定期频繁发生的事物。

You could sit there in the evening and listen to the radio.你可以每天晚上坐在那儿听广播。Most of us play golf in the afternoons.我们大多数人都在下午打高尔夫球。

(3)当表达在晚上定期发生的事情时，不使用 in the night 或 in the nights，而说 at night。

（1）在 morning, afternoon 和 evening 前加 this 表示当天的时间。

(2)我们用 tonight 和 today 来分别表示今晚和今天，而不用的 this night 和 this today。

(1) 将 yesterday 放在 morning, afternoon 和 evening 之前，表示昨天的时间

(2)用 last night 来表达昨天晚上，而不说 yesterday night.
